Effective January 1, 2009, the Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities will be increasing fees as planned in Fee Resolution No. 2276, adopted by City Council on May 13, 2008. The resolution provided for a $5 increase in registration fees for youth sports activities fully operated by the Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities. Fees will increase from $20 to $25 per sport, per registrant. The Department will continue to provide scholarships to families and children to ensure all interested youth who cannot afford the fees may participate at a reduced rate or at no charge.
When the T. C. Williams volleyball team finished a dismal 2-5 in Patriot District competition, very few people gave them a shot at beating Annandale in the first round of the Patriot District tournament. But with some help from Annandale, and Titan tenacity, T. C. beat The Atoms three games to one on Monday night at Annandale.
The T. C. Williams volleyball team paid tribute to seven seniors and completed the celebration with a victory over the Lake Braddock Bruins, three games to two. The Titans finished the season 6-11, 2-5 in Patriot District competition.
The Patriot District Cross Country Championship races took place under ideal running conditions at Burke Lake Park on Thursday, Oct. 23rd. Conditions were so good that many members of the T.C.
Williams boys and girls varsity cross country teams set personal records on the rolling 3 mile course.
Varsity Field Hockey falls to the Annandale Atoms in the first round of the Patriot District Tourney, 2-1, ending their season at 9-6.
Varsity Field Hockey takes on Annandale to open the Patriot District Tournament tonight at Minnie Howard starting at 7:00. Admission is $6.00 and Booster passes are not accepted for this event.
Varsity Football completes the TCW sweep with a 18-16 victory over the West Springfield Spartans. The Titans used big plays and a stingy defense to secure the win.
Varsity Field Hockey finished the regular season with a come-from-behind win over West Potomac by a score of 2-1.
