Alexandria Police Apprehend Suspect

Responding to a tip from an Alexandrian citizen, police found and apprehended 45 year old Donald Lee Hinton sitting on a park bench near George Washington Middle School. Fairfax County police were looking for Hinton as a suspect in the stabbing of a woman and her seven year old son in Hybla Valley early Sunday morning. Hinton is being held in the Fairfax County detention center.

The incident began, according to Fairfax County Police, shortly before noon on Sunday, august 17. Police responded to a home in a mobile home park on Audubon Avenue for a reported domestic violence incident. They found a forty five- year old woman and her seven-year old son suffering from stab wounds. Both were transported to INOVA Fairfax Hospital, the woman with life threatening injuries, and the suspects description was sent to local police departments and the media.

At around 1:45 am. On August 18, Alexandria Police received a call about the suspect being seen near the intersection of Patrick and Duke streets. Shortly after that call, Police found Hinton on the Park bench near G.W. Middle School.
