The Alexandria school bus was on its way to Lyles Crouch Traditional Academy when it was hit by a vehicle traveling south on Washington Street. Police said that the driver lost control of her car, striking two passenger cars and the bus, all of which were stopped so that the bus could pick up more children. The driver of the passenger car that was hit was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital and his condition is unknown. One of the children who was a passenger on the bus was taken to Inova Alexandria Hospital, strictly as a precaution. Police are unclear exactly how the accident occurred and are continuing their investigation.
