The City of Alexandria invites residents to participate in a community meeting to learn about proposed drainage improvements along Key Drive. The meeting will be held on Thursday, February 7 at T.C. Williams High School (3330 King St.) at 7 p.m.
Something is amiss at the new T.C. Williams High School. It is very dark around the school at night. It is so dark that the police department asked the fire department volunteers to man a mobile light unit during home basketball games so that students and adults would feel safe proceeding to and from the school and the parking in Chinquapin park.
The City of Alexandria invites design submissions from architects, landscape architects, artists, students, and the general public to memorialize and honor the 1,800 individuals who escaped slavery by fleeing to Alexandria during the Civil War who are buried in Contrabands and Freedmen’s Cemetery. Governor Bill Bolling to support bi-partisan redistricting reform. Former Governor Mark Warner and former Senator George Allen also made statements of support. Rebuilding Together Alexandria recently repaired and improved the homes of four local veterans of World War II and the Korean War as part of the Heroes at Homesm program.
