Alexandria police have arrested Randy Baldon, 25, of 240 South Reynolds Street in Alexandria, and charged him with the murder of Darrell Marcus Williams, Jr. This is the third homicide in Alexandria this year. There were eight homicides in Alexandria last year.
Police were called to the 200 block of South Whiting Street at around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday night to investigate a report of gunshots fired. They found Williams, 35, lying in the street, dead. An autopsy, which was performed today, found the cause of death to be homicide as the result of multiple gunshot wounds. The suspect’s photo is not being released because police are still interviewing witnesses.
