Monday, January 4 – Tavern Toddlers
Join us for a special program for toddlers (walkers through 36 months) and their caregivers at Gadsby’s Tavern Museum, 134 N. Royal St. Tavern Toddlers features a weekly open playtime in Gadsby’s historic ballroom Mondays, excluding Federal holidays, through April 26 any time between 10:30 a.m. and noon. Open life drawing continues at the Del Ray Artisans gallery. These sessions operate on a drop in basis so there is no need to register in advance. Bring your supplies and join us at the gallery to draw or paint our live models. We don’t supply easels – only plenty of chairs – but you are welcome to bring your own if you want to use one.
Whether you are a working artist or you haven’t picked up a crayon since grammar school, the “Messing Around with Creativity” workshop is for you. Everyone is creative, but most of us never fully explore that idea. That’s what this workshop is designed to do. We’ll spend two hours focused on finding and expressing the creativity that is buried within you.
Join Del Ray Artisans for a new year of art-making for card makers and Artist Trading Card artists Sunday, January 31, from noon to 4 p.m. Create handmade cards such as soon-to-be-valentines for the gallery or for your own lovey-dovey selves. Materials supplied with suggested donations for your own hearts. ATC-ers are invited to come and trade/swap and participate in DRA’s New Year’s theme of What is “In” and What is “Out” for 2010! Example: “In” is “Eco-Green” and “Out” is “Dollar-Green”.

Gadsby’s Tavern Museum will be hosting its spring session of Tavern Toddlers, beginning Monday, January 4, 2010, and continuing weekly (except for Federal holidays) through Monday, April 26, 2010. Del Ray Artisans (DRA) is pleased to announce the January 2010 show, “New Work for a New Year”. This exhibit, for both DRA members and non-members, provides local artists a platform to show recent work, which has not been previously exhibited.
The Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities Winter 2010 Program Guide is now available. The program guide highlights City classes, programs, activities and special events occurring January through March 2010. Registration for winter classes and activities begins at 9 a.m. on Monday, December 14 for City residents, and Monday, December 21 for nonresidents.
