Today, Virginia Governor Tim Kaine announced that signed loan agreements are in place for all of Virginia’s water quality funds received from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and 35 projects are under contract or construction. Virginia is the second state in the nation to complete contracts for water quality projects that received funding from the ARRA.

Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced the winners of the Green Commonwealth Challenge. In June of this year, as part of Executive Order 82, the Governor challenged state agencies to reduce pollution and become more sustainable. Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced the collection of an estimated $103 million in back taxes during the Department of Taxation’s “Get Square” back tax amnesty program. The total amount collected more than doubles the initial collection projections of $41 million.
