With just over two weeks until prom, T.C. Williams High School seniors and their dates are scrambling to finish last minute planning for dresses, tuxes, dinner, and other essentials. The prom will be held on Saturday, June 13th, from 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. at the Marriott Crystal Gateway in Crystal City. Tickets are currently on sale for $55.

City Properties For Sale, Redevelopment

A report submitted to Council at last night’s meeting recommends the sale of six parcels worth an estimated $4.1 to $6.2 million.

Senator Warner Concludes Visits To Iraq, Pakistan & Afghanistan

Senator Warner was part of a Congressional delegation that included Sens. Patrick Leahy (Vermont) and Sheldon Whitehouse (Rhode Island).
Special Youth Art Project At The Torpedo Factory Art Center
[From: Arts & Style]The Torpedo Factory Art Center’s Target Gallery will be having special programming on Thursday, May 28 from4-8pm in conjunction with the FRESH exhibition currently in the gallery. This will be an educational project for local area youth and for the public.
From 4-7pm local teenagers will be helping assist FRESH artist Gabriel Pons to create a graffiti inspired mural based on the story of Charles Houston. This mural will be painted on old doors that have already been tagged by a local DC graffiti artist.
Telegraph Road Interchange Ramps To Open
[From: Traffic & Transportation]New ramps from the Capital Beltway’s Outer Loop (I-95/495 North) at Telegraph Road will open on Saturday, May 30, providing much-anticipated relief for the 46,000 daily commuters through the area. These ramps mark the first major milestone of the Telegraph Road Interchange Improvement construction, the final component of the Wilson Bridge Project. The opening of the ramps is weather dependent.
Volunteer Coach Arrested For Sex Offenses
[From: Courts & Crime]An investigation was launched in late February of this year, when a 24-year-old victim of a sexual crime came forward after 12 years. Detectives from the Child Investigations Unit, assisted by agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, conducted the investigation that led to the arrest of John E. Hamilton, 37, of 14120 Gabrielle Way in Centreville, Virginia.
