Big hearted performers with experiences from the Kennedy Center to Carnegie Hall donated their talents at La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery’s inaugural Notte di Voce (Night of Voices) Black Tie fundraiser to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Washington D.C.’s families with seriously ill children. Lee District Supervisor Jeff McKay was on hand to greet the guests who attended this first time event. La-Z-Boy raised $3200 to help change children’s lives.
The 120 guests listened to the music while seated in La-Z-Boy chairs. Members of the Alexandria business community donated wine, food, and gifts to add to the festivities. In 2008, La-Z-Boy became the official furniture provider to Ronald McDonald House Charities nationwide, helping to provide a home-away-from-home to families when they need it most. The La-Z-Boy contribution to RMHC includes annual furniture donations to all Ronald McDonald House programs and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms programs in the U.S. and Canada, as well as a cash contribution.
Over the next few years this will add up to thousands of pieces of furniture, consisting of stationary and motion sofas, loveseats and sectionals, tables, ottomans, accent chairs and recliners. Last year, La-Z-Boy donated 550 pieces of furniture and helped furnish more than 120 houses across the U.S. and Canada.
