The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for the Washington metropolitan region, including the City of Alexandria, beginning at 2 p.m. and ending late tonight. Rain and heavy thunderstorms are possible throughout the afternoon and evening.
High waters may be on the roadways and in low-lying areas. Residents are urged to use caution when driving and do not drive through high waters.
