I wish for all ACPS families a relaxing and joyful winter break, filled with memorable times with your loved ones.  This is a special time of year for caring and giving, and I hope that our students will take advantage of this extended time off school to think about neighbors and community members who could use some extra support. T.C. Vision and Action Committee

Superintendent Sherman is asking for volunteers to join a T.C. Vision and Action Committee to review where we are and where we should be going in the next 3-5 years.  Staff, parents, community members and students are invited to be a part of this committee, which will meet monthly over the next two years.  Anyone interested in serving should call the ACPS Department of Communications at 703-824-6635 by Wednesday, Jan. 13.  For more information, please go to http://www.acps.k12.va.us/news2010/nr2009120303.php

Mount Vernon Intersession

The Intersession schedules that were to be sent home with students this week will be mailed instead, but parents can also pick them up in person if they prefer.  The Mount Vernon Community School intersession coordinator will be in the building from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 23; Monday, Dec. 28; Tuesday, Dec. 29; and Wednesday, Dec. 30. Tucker Intersession

Those who were not able to make it to Samuel W. Tucker Elementary School today to pick up Intersession confirmation letters will receive their letters in the mail. The letters will be mailed on Wednesday, Dec. 23. The letter includes important information regarding the program. Parker-Gray Rescheduled

The T.C. Williams High School Boys’ Varsity Basketball Parker-Gray Memorial Game has been rescheduled for a third (and hopefully final) time to 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 1. The game is dedicated to the legacy of Parker-Gray High School will be played against Kecoughtan High School, a very good basketball team coached by former T.C. Williams  Head Coach Ivan Thomas, who coached the Titans to a state championship.
