Winter Concerts

Tucker Tuesday

The Samuel W. Tucker PTA will host its first Tucker Tuesday Family Night Out of the school year from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at Fuddruckers, 4141C Duke St., Alexandria. Fuddruckers will donate to the school 20 percent of qualifying sales. Crew Conditioning

Not participating in winter sports? Want to learn a new sport? Make friends? Get in great shape? T.C. Williams High School Crew Winter Conditioning is under way and wants eighth- through 12th-graders to participate. Students meet to work out from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday afternoons at the T.C. Williams boathouse, The Dee Campbell Rowing Center. Technology Grant

Paul George, a technology integration specialist at the Francis C. Hammond Middle School Campus, is receiving a North Tier Professional Development Grant for $2,848. North Tier accepted George’s proposal, “Flipping for Effective Technology Integration,” which will provide a cohort of Alexandria City Public Schools middle-school teachers an opportunity to “ramp up their instructional technology skills through Webinars, a book club, videotaped lessons and collaboration on best practices through Web 2.0 tools.
