Parents and guardians of students enrolled at the Francis C. Hammond or George Washington Middle School Campuses or at T.C. Williams High School or the T.C. Williams High School Minnie Howard Campus can request access to observe their children’s accounts in Blackboard. H1N1 Vaccine Update
The Alexandria Health Department is planning to offer H1N1 vaccines to our secondary students this week. Students at George Washington Middle Schools 1 and 2 were scheduled to receive vaccines today. The remaining schedule includes Francis C. Hammond Middle Schools 1, 2 and 3 on Tuesday, Dec. 1; T.C. Williams Minnie Howard campus Thursday, Dec. 3; and T.C. Williams main campus Friday, Dec. 4. Dream Fund
Teachers, put on your thinking caps and make your wish lists. The ACPS Teachers Dream Fund, a fund from which ACPS teachers can request financial support for unique and specific ways to help students, is about to be launched. The Dream Fund Board, comprised of teacher volunteers, met on November 20 and now is in the process of finalizing funding levels and an application process for the first round of Teachers Dream Fund grants. Look for more information next week regarding application deadlines.
Pancake Breakfast
Jefferson-Houston School will host a Pancake Breakfast “Friendraiser” from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, in the school cafeteria, 1501 Cameron St., Alexandria. Come on out to meet parents and community members and have someone else cook a delicious pancake breakfast for you and your family — and you don’t even have to clean up!
