Both Titan basketball teams played their final home games last night and continued their winning ways. The girls defeated Robinson, 68-48 and the boys edged Stuart, 45-41.
The T. C. Williams girls’ victory was particularly sweet as the Rams ended the Titans’ undefeated season last year by defeating them in the regional tournament. This year, the game was really never close and ended in a 20-point win for T. C.
The 15th-ranked Titans improve their record to 23-4 on the year and will face Westfield in a semifinal game on Friday night at 8:00 p.m. The game will be played at Robinson.
The boys’ game was much more exciting and was in doubt until the end. At the half, the Titans were down, 16-15, and the lead changed hands several times in the second half. The fourth-ranked Titans improved their record to 25-2 and will face Robert E. Lee High School in a semifinal game on Saturday night at Robinson Secondary School. The Titans and Lancers have met three times this year with T. C. winning all of the previous contests. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
