Titans Split With Atoms

On Dec. 18, the Titan basketball teams played another Patriot District contest against Annandale with mixed results: at home, the girls lost, 46-37; at Annandale, the boys won, 75-62.

The game was close in the first quarter for the Titan boys who finished ahead, 16-11. In the second quarter, the Atoms scored two more points than the Titans and the score at the half was 31-24.

The Titans outscored the Atoms 19-18 in the third, finishing the quarter with an eight-point lead, 50-42. In the fourth, the Titans scored 25 to the Atoms 20 and T. C. came away with the victory, 75-62.

Titan senior Billy Rowland led all scorers with 28. Two other Titans finished in double figures: junior Jamal Pullen with 12 and senior Darris Porter, also with 12.

The Titan girls are now 1-2 on the year, 0-2 in the Patriot Distirct. The boys are 2-1 overall, 2-0 in Patriot District competition. The Titan boys will host Kecoughtan in the Parker-Gray Classic, rescheduled from Dec. 5 and Dec. 19, on Wednesday, Dec. 23.
