Marisa’s Senior Experience: 6/9

My day started one hour earlier than usual today! I arrived at Carla’s house at 8:00 a.m. to go to the Nannie J. Lee Recreation Center with her and Rebecca. Carla is part of the Mayor’s Healthy Lifestyles Leadership Team and they got together to discuss ways to get Alexandrians more in shape.

We then stopped by Mount Vernon Recreation Center so Carla could vote and I took some pictures of the election signs in front of the building. Even though it was mid-morning, there was barely anyone walking into the building to vote. I hope it gets busier in the afternoon.

After arriving back at Carla’s house, Rebecca and I worked on posting my daily blog entry and helped Carla post some more articles and graphics onto the site. We wrote a short article about the latest swine flu news- two children at Polk Elementary School tested positive for it. Then I went back to my house to upload and email photographs to Regan that I had taken at the polls.
