The City of Alexandria continues to clear snow and ice from City streets following Saturday’s historic snow storm. Snow removal crews have worked since Friday night to clear snow and ice from 521 lane miles of City streets.
The City’s snow removal goals for the next 48 hours are as follows:
- 90% of City streets will be plowed and treated by 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22.
- 100% of City streets will be plowed and treated by 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23.
Even after plowing and treatment with salt and chemicals, snow, slush and ice may continue to cover some residential streets. Residents with snow removal questions may call the Snow Removal Information Hotline at 703.746.4488.
