Motorists Urged to Choose Alternate Routes
As part of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project, weather permitting, one or both directions of Telegraph Road and related highway ramps will be closed periodically from Monday, Nov. 16 through Friday, Nov. 20 for bridge deck milling, pouring and paving operations.
Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes to avoid expected delays. The scheduled work is as follows:
Telegraph Road Closures
Tuesday, Nov. 17 OVERNIGHT from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning:
· Telegraph Road South between Duke Street and Huntington Avenue.
Detour: Traffic needing to access Telegraph Road South should travel Duke Street East to U.S. Route 1 South to Huntington Avenue West to Telegraph Road.
Wednesday, Nov. 18 OVERNIGHT from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning:
· Telegraph Road North between Huntington Avenue and the Eisenhower Avenue overpass.
Detour: Traffic needing to access Telegraph Road North should take Huntington Avenue east to U.S. Route 1 North to the Inner Loop to the Telegraph Road North ramp.
There will also be intermittent partial daytime lane closures throughout the week along Telegraph Road northbound and southbound for paving work, which can only occur during daytime temperatures. Any daytime closures will not be complete road closures.
Ramp Closures
Monday, Nov. 16 through Friday, Nov. 20 OVERNIGHT from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning:
· Inner Loop (I-95/495 South) ramp to Telegraph Road South.
Detour: Traffic needing to access Telegraph Road South should use the ramp to Telegraph Road northbound to Pershing Avenue to right on Stovall Street to left on Mill Road to Telegraph Road southbound.
· Telegraph Road North ramp to the Inner Loop (I-95/495 South).
Detour: Traffic needing to access the Inner Loop should travel Huntington Avenue East to U.S. Route 1 North to the Inner Loop.
There will be additional intermittent daytime ramp closures in the Telegraph Road exchange area later in the week; these closures will not take place during rush hour peak driving periods.
Please use caution when traveling in this area. All construction-related work and dates are subject to change, depending on weather, material and contractor availability or other unforeseen conditions.
